Niacinamide is a water-soluble form of vitamin B3 (niacin). Ambernay uses niacinamide where the formula objective requires support for skin comfort, barrier function and appearance — not as a decorative hero ingredient. Higher percentages are not automatically better; formula context, tolerance and daily-use compatibility matter.
Where concentration matters
Niacinamide has been studied across a wide concentration range. Most published cosmetic research references 2–5% as the range associated with visible tone balance outcomes. Concentrations above 10% have not demonstrated proportionally greater cosmetic benefit in most skin types and may reduce tolerance in reactive skin. Ambernay calibrates concentration to the specific formula objective — not to label marketing.

Best paired with
Niacinamide is compatible with most cosmetic actives. It works well alongside humectants (glycerin, panthenol), barrier lipids (ceramides, squalane) and UV filters. It does not require isolation from other actives in a standard daily-use formula.
Claim caution / regulatory note
Niacinamide is a cosmetic ingredient under EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and equivalent regulations. Claims for niacinamide in cosmetic products must remain within cosmetic function — appearance, comfort, feel, visible change. Drug claims, therapeutic claims or disease treatment claims are not permitted in a cosmetic context.
